Australian Flag
Australia`s national flag incorporates the Union Jack, Southern Cross and Federation Star/ The design was chosen from a national flag competition held in 1901. From 32.000 entries, five people submitted near-idential designs and were declared joint winners. They shared the 200 pounds prize money. The winning design had no legal status until the "Flags Act 1953" was passed.
